Services for Aaron J. Sorensen, 30, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry. The Rev. Dave Kasischke, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Woodstock, will officiate.

Born Oct. 28, 1969, in Spokane, Wash., to Kristen Howell and Mason Sorensen, he died suddenly Tuesday, July 25, 2000, in Wauconda. Interment will be private.

Originally from Seattle, Wash., Aaron moved to Illinois in 1987 to serve in the Navy. Following his military service, he was employed by various local businesses. He finally realized his dream of being his own boss in 1997 when he became the owner/operator of A&K (Aaron and Kayla) Removal.

An avid sports fan, Aaron especially liked the Chicago Bulls. He also enjoyed collecting miniature military soldiers and boating. Aaron was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Woodstock. He was always a cheerful and kind person, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A devoted son, father and fiance, Aaron made a positive difference in all of the lives he touched.

Surviving are his mother, Kristen (David) Howell of Camano Island, Wash.; father, Mason (Joanie) Sorensen of New York; fiancee, Brandi McLeod of Harvard, whom he was to marry on Aug. 19, 2000, and her mother, Lee Swanson of McHenry; daughter, Kayla Sorensen of Genoa City, Wis.; son, Alex McLeod of Harvard; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.V. Sorensen of Enumclaw, Wash.; brother, Chandler Keck of Camano Island; half brothers and half sister, David Sorensen of Seattle, Wash., Anna Sorensen of New Jersey and Stephen Sorensen of New York; cousins, Grant and Kerri McDonald, both of Issaquah, Wash.; and aunt and uncle, Karen and Peter McDonald of Issaquah.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Anderson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for the Brandi and Alex McLeod Fund, c/o First National Bank of McHenry, 3814 W. Elm St., McHenry, IL 60050.
