Hazel Broom-Cook, age 85, passed away due to complications of Alzheimer's on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Fl. She was born on January 6, 1925 in Cottondale, Fl to Henry and Lula Broom. Ms. Cook was a resident of Tallahassee for 51 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Claude Cook and 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include, daughter, Sybil Vogt of Winter Haven, Fl; six grandchildren, Tammy Hamilton (Archie) of Tallahassee, Gregory Watson (Patti) and Regina Vogt of Winter Haven, Lisa Campbell (Jeff) of Gastonia, NC, Scott Vogt (Linda) of Murfreesboro, TN, David Vogt of Sacramento, CA, 15 grandchildren, one brother, Odel Broom (Virginia) of Winter Haven and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. CST at the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home, 3960 Hwy 90, Marianna, Fl 32446 with Rev. Frances Dudley officiating. Interment will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Cottondale, Fl. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
