Born in Graceville, FL., on February 5, 1915, he came to Winter Haven from Cottondale, FL., in 1948. He was a machinist for the citrus industry. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church and also attended the Village Church of God. Mr. Broom was preceded in death by his wife, Melida Broom; and 2 daughters, Fayette Mercer, and Carolyn Sue Stokes. He is survived by his daughter, Vivian Annette Glover, Winter Haven, FL.; brother, Odell Broom, Winter Haven, FL.; sisters, Ola Parrish, Winter Haven, FL., Hazel Cook, Tallahassee; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
