Mrs. Wampler was born on April 28, 1905, at Dale Enterprise and was a daughter of Charlie Swope Showalter and Annie Joseph Showalter.
She was a member of the Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church. She had been in failing health for several years.
On March 5, 1925, she married C.M. Wampler , who died Feb. 21, 1988.
Surviving are four children, Bonnie L. Wampler , June W. Craun, and Carolyn A. Wampler , all of Harrisonburg, Eddy S. Wampler and daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen, of Dayton; five grandchildren, Wayne Craun, Steve Craun, Sidney Craun, Debra Martin, Joanie Cassens and seven great-grandchildren.
She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8 Saturday (this) evening at the Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at the Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church with the Rev. George Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
