Mrs. Sipes was born August 2, 1920, in Harrisonburg and was a daughter of the late Marshall Houchen Taylor and Artie Taylor.
She lived all her life in Harrisonburg and attended Harrisonbug City schools.
On June 17, 1939, she married Jesse Edward Sipes Sr., who died March 12, 1990.
Surviving are two sons, Jesse Edward Sipes Jr., of Harrisonburg, and Thomas M. Sipes, of Massanutten Village, two sisters, Virginia Helmick, of Harrisonburg, and Lillian Mauck, of Bridgewater Home, one brother, Marshall Taylor, of San Antonio, Tex., and three grandchildren.
The Revs. Hubert Pellman and J. Mark Martin will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
