Obituary
Martin Bowman died at his home, No. 1410 Milwaukee avenue, at 11:40 yesterday morning, of kidney complaint, aged 77 years and 10 months.
Deceased was born in Gunstett, Alsace, France, in 1812; came to America in 1827, settling and remaining in Buffalo nine years. He then went to Ohio and remained there a few years, and came to Racine in 1840, in search of a home. He remained here one year and then returned east, coming back in 1843, remaining until 1857 when he left for Northern Wisconsin.
In 1863 he returned to Racine and remained up to the time of his death, a good and honest citizen.
He was a member of the J I Case T M Co. Benevolent Association.
A wife, five sons, two daughters and three grandchildren survive him.
Funeral Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, from St Joseph Church.
