Wesley was the son of Elizabeth (Anthony) and Riley Hunt. He married Sarah N. J. Hendricks in Simpson Co., Kentucky on 05 Sep 1855. They were the parents of James, Eunice, Sidney, Dora, and Zana.
A native of nearby Allen County, Kentucky, Wesley moved to Simpson Co. Kentucky in 1854. He taught school there for many years. He was an active member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (Simpson Co., KY) in which he was a clerk and deacon.
Wesley died 4 July 1884 in Simpson County as a result of being kicked by a mule. Wesley, his wife, Sarah, & their child, Eunice, are buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Simpson Co. KY.
