LOHRVILLE - Harold H. Alliger, age 75, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 at Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Farnhamville with Pastor Robert Zellmer officiating. Burial will be in the Reading Township Cemetery, Farnhamville. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie

Survivors include his wife Marjorie Alliger, of Lohrville; daughters Cindy Staron and her husband Dave, of Marshalltown; and Cathy Muncy, of Andover, Kan.; sons Steve Alliger and his wife Jean, of Paton; and Larry Alliger and his wife Jill, of Gowrie; daughter Barb Langner and her husband Merle, of Gowrie; and sons Brian Alliger and his wife Tonya, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Dennis Alliger and his wife Dedre, of Peoria, Ariz.; eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Preceding him in death are his parents Frank and Emma (Schroeder) Alliger; step-mother Bonnie Van Pelt Alliger; sister Ann Van Hoff and an infant brother.

Harold H. Alliger was born on Feb. 6, 1935 in Calhoun County. He attended the Paton School, graduating in the Class of 1953, the same class as his wife. Harold was united in marriage with Marjorie Hirsch on July 12, 1953 at Christ Lutheran Church in Churdan. They farmed all their life in the area. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed driving for the Gowrie Care Center, attending cattle sales, fishing and spending time with family.
