Son of Andrew Hendon and Margaret Simmons.

CSA Co B, 13th Georgia infantry regiment: Hendon, Henry Thomas- private July 8, 1861. Appointed 2d Sergeant in 1864. Captured at Rockville, Md. July 11, 1864. Paroled at Elmira, N. Y. and sent to James River, Va. for exchange March 10, 1865. Received at Boulware & Cox's Wharves James River, Va., March 15,1865.

According to Cynthia's pension application, Henry apparently died of tuberculosis, which he contacted while a prisoner at Elmira, New York.

Henry married Cynthia Emily Scoggin(s) in Troup County, Georgia on 15 Dec 1853.
