Hettie Gooch Copeland came from a large and very close family with deep roots in Lauderdale County, Alabama. She married her true soul mate, Samuel Harper Copeland in Alabama on May 5, 1889. Hettie left Alabama with Samuel and never moved back, but always went back to visit her family as often as she could.
Hettie and Samuel lived in Alabama, Texas, and finally Oklahoma. Her husband, children, and grandchildren meant the world to her. Although she was a very strong woman, I don't think she ever got over the death of her beloved "Harper".
Hettie loved red roses, and was a devout christian.
