Oasis Pioneer Dies

Mrs. Matilda Iverson Christensen died at her home on Tuesday evening in Oasis following an illness and complications due to an accident several weeks ago when she fell and fractured her hip.

She was seventy years of age and came to this country as a young girl from her home in Norway. She lived in Oasis for the past fifty five years where Mr Christensen farmed and her family was born and raised there. She was an active church worker for many years and had served as President of the Relief Society for several years. She was held in high regard by her many friends and their sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.

Mrs. Christensen is survived be her husband James Christensen and the following children: Mrs. David Nichols, Mrs. R.H. Peterson, Edwin Christensen and Norval Christensen of Oasis and Mrs. R.S. Hatton of Provo. There are 14 grandchildren and 4 great grant children.

Funeral services will be held in Oasis Friday afternoon at 1:00 PM under the direction of Bishop Styler.
