It was presented by Bill Mitchell colored, for asisting in digging a grave for a man named Barnett, who was murdered and robbed by his traveling companion about two miles north of town, on the Phelan branch, on the night of Sunday July 12, 1874. The claim was for $2 and the court rejected it.
