Julia, age 100, passed away at St. Marys Manor. She married William H. Brees on October 5, 1932, in the Walnut Hill Community north of Silver Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Carolyn McDowell, her parents, her grandson, Douglas Brees, two sisters, and four brothers. Survivors include her sons, Donald Brees and William Brees, her sister Christina Zickefoose, 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Emmett United Methodist Church. Interment was in Adrian Cemetery.
