Stricken with a heart attack, Mrs. Annabeth Herberth died last Thursday at her home in Babbitt. Her husband George F. Herberth, was at work at the Hawthorne Naval Ammunition depot when the Babbitt wife and mother passed away. A neighbor living next door to the stricken woman heard her cry at 8:03 a.m. and went in the house to find her slumped on the floor dead. Mrs. Herberth had been ill last Wednesday night but felt in the best of health Thursday morning. Herberth said today, after he went to work as usual. After Mrs. Herberth had suffered the heart attack, Herberth was summoned from his duties. Mrs. Herberth was born in Oakland, California, and with her parents moved to Tonopah at the age of 6 months. Following the death of her mother in the Nye county community, Mrs. Herberth went to Parhanaget, Alamo, Nevada, in 1934, and came to Hawthorne early in 1939 when Herberth was a foreman at the CCC camp at Camp Jumbo. After residing here for some time the couple moved to Oakland, California, and returned to Hawthorne about 21 months ago, establishing their home in Babbitt. Mrs. Herberth helped organize the Sunday school at the LDS church in Hawthorne in 1939. The deceased is survived by her husband, George F. Herberth; two daughters, Lois and Suzanne, aged 3 and 5 years; her father Harry F. Bruce, who now lives in Hawthorne; three sisters, Mrs. M. L. Cutler and Mrs. Willard Greenslade of Hawthorne, and Mrs. Richard Rendstrom of Los Angeles. Funeral services were held in the LDS church in Sparks with Bishop Alvin Hughes of Hawthorne officiating.
