Melvina Mcintire was born Apr 1844, in Kentucky, to parents Nicholas McIntire (1802-1859), and Eliza D. Sims (1802-1892), both born in Kentucky.
Melvina was the sixth child in a family of eight children. Her brothers and sisters were: James McIntire (1830-), Elizabeth Sims McIntire-Adams (1833-1913), William D. McIntire (ca 1835-), Amanda McIntire (ca 1838-), Mary W. McIntire-Adams (1840-1920), Alvira Jane McIntire-Bailey (1847-1910), and Andrew L. McIntire (1850-1920).
About 1868, Melvina married William P. Wyatt, born in Virginia (1845-1908). William was a son of Enoch Wyatt (1799-1858), and Edith Elizabeth Love (1809-1879), both born in North Carolina.
William and Melvina settled first in Rowan County, later moving to Fayette County. They had six known children, including their first daughter who died in infancy in 1869. Their other sons and one more daughter were: Lawson D. Wyatt (1870-1923), James F. Wyatt (1872-1875), George Reese Wyatt (1875-1921), Mary Wyatt (1877-1877), and William French Wyatt (1880-), all born in Kentucky.
Melvina died on Nov 6, 1909, a year after her husband, and both are buried in the Carlisle Cemetery.
