Mom was born August 31, 1925 in Cowley, Wyoming. She was the youngest of three children born to Myrtle L. and Parnell Black.
Mary Lou lived in Salt Lake from the time she was four years old. Mom graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah, where she met and married Miles S. Epperson.
Mom was a very kind, generous, loving person who always greeted everyone with "Hi how are you honey? When are we going to Wendover?"
Mom enjoyed watching CNN and discussing her strong political opinions. She was a member of the Democratic Party. She had a sharp sense of humor and loved to laugh. We will greatly miss her.
Miles, daughter Cathi, parents, brothers Wayne L. and John L. Black, and sisters-in-law Bettina and Barbara, all of which she loved dearly, preceded her in death. She is survived by three children Randy (Sue), Mike (Joyce), Sherri Griffith (Ruben), six grandchildren Jackie, Jon, Heather, Holly, Mikal, Carrie Jane, and eight great-grandchildren.
Mom requested a simple graveside service held at Wasatch Lawn on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 12:00 p.m.
