Mr. Jimmie Roger Copeland, 59, died Thursday at the St. Vincent Medical Center, Jacksonville, Fla., following a short illness.
A Jeff Davis County native, he resided in Ware County most of his life and was retired from Anglin's Food Store. He was a member of the Emerson Park Full Gospel Center. His father was the late Elliott Morgan Copeland.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Copeland of Blackshear; his former wife, Cassie Copeland of Waycross; two daughters, Cathy Copeland of Waycross and Carol Rowland of Blackshear; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Fred and Vickie Copeland, and David Copeland, all of Waycross; his mother Albie Crapps Padgett of Avon Park, Fla.; a step-daughter Alice Todd of Lake City, Fla.; two stepsons, Tommy Rowland and Morris Rowland, both of Blackshear; two brothers, Lenton Copeland of Brunswick an Fred Padgett of Athens, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Michael Ryan, Brandi Crews, Jonathan Rowland and Nicholas Rowland.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Music Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be at the Hargraves Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 912 Sweat St. and at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
