Louis Francis Atchison, 72, Reading, died Tuesday, June 28,1994 at Colmery O'Neal V.A. Medical Center in Topeka.

Mr. Atchison worked for Osage Products in Osage City and for Martin Marietta Corp., headquartered in Topeka. He served in the 101st Airborne Division in France and Normandy during World War II.

He was born Oct 6, 1921 at Arvonia, the son of George W. and Mary L Moore Atchison. He lived most of his life in the Arvonia and Reading communities.

He was married to Verda Carter in 1941. They were divorced. He was married to Anna Hooper on Feb 14, 1946 in Lebo. They were divorced.

Survivors include six sons, Louis Dwayne Atchison, Winchester, Ky, Bradley Atchison and Lonnie Atchison, both of Reading, Rex and Lawrence Paul Atchison, both of Osage City, and Clarence Atchison, Lebo; eight daughters, Sandra K. Brock, Winchester, Ky, Frances Sapp, Reading, Peggy Baker, Hartford, LaDonna Harcar, Tonganoxie, Regina Atchison and Ranelda Tatman, both of Emporia, Lela Ralphetta Senna, Norfolk, Va., and Marcella Keighley, Americus; a brother James Atchison, Albany, Texas; three sisters; Mary Bartee, Osage City, Anna Moore, Helena, Montana, and Bertha Krueger, Neosho Rapids; 36 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Atchison was preceded in death by a son, Michael Atchison, and a daughter, Phyllis Irene Atchison.

Visitation was Wed. from 2 to 8p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in Lebo. Graveside services were Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Arvonia Cemetery in Arvonia.
