CASTILIAN September 20, 1951:
Charles P. Kniffin, 64, died September 18, 1951 in Veterans Hospital, Buffalo. He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of Bates-Courtney American Legion Post. He had resided in Silver Springs 56 years, a local barber for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lafferty Kniffin; two daughters, June Kniffin of Silver Springs, Mrs. William Baer of Rochester; a brother, James Kniffin of Silver Springs; a sister, Mrs. L. Starkweather of Rochester; and a granddaughter, Mary Ellen Baer of Rochester. Funeral services held on Thursday at St. Mary's Church were preceded by prayers at his late Maple Street home. Burial was in the church cemetery, Silver Springs.
