Yvonne M. Fitzgerald died February 14, 2007 at WCCH Nursing Facility after a short stay. She was born in Warsaw on August 21, 1921, the daughter of the late Adelard and Edna Smith Simard. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1939. She began her married life at age 17 as the devoted wife of Gerald Fitzgerald who died in May of 1988. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, reading and being a stay at home Mom to her six children.

She is survived by three sons, Wayne (Glenda) of Lecanto, Fla., Michael (Gail) of Warsaw, Douglas (Patti) of Erie, Pa.; three daughters, Brenda (Joe) Gozelski of Castile, Patricia (Al) Otteni of Erie, Pa., Sallie (Jeff) Simmons of St. Augustine, Fla.; 28 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Quentin, Leo and Cyrille Simard and sister Jeanette Hurlburt. A Mass of Christian burial was offered at St. Mary's Church with Rev. John Heigl as celebrant. Burial was in the church cemetery in Silver Springs.
