MRS. MARIE GOLTZ SERVICE WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Marie E Goltz, 82, well known and much loved resident of Big Rapids for many years, died Sunday while attending a church service in the First Baptist church.

She was born Marie E Lusk in Kalamazoo Oct. 12, 1879, and was married to Albert Goltz of this city Oct. 6, 1903. they made their home here since their marriage, and operated a grocery store in the city for over 30 years prior to their retirement in 1946. Mr. Goltz died in 1955.

Mrs. Goltz was a lifelong member of the First Baptist church and was a member of the Harriet Brown circle of the church. She was a charter member of the Business and Professional Women's club, and served as club secretary for many years. She was also a member of the Big Rapids Woman's Club and the Garden Club.

She and Mr. Goltz had no children, but she is survived by a number of nieces and nephews in whose lives she and her husband always took a keen interest. She will also be remembered by many Ferris Institute students who roomed in the Goltz home throughout the years.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Rogers funeral home Wednesday at 1:30 pm, Rev. Ralph Davidson officiating. Burial will be made in Highland View cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home tonight and until time for the services.
