Mathias McCrea, 88, former Hunterdon County road department foreman, died Tuesday in his home, Cherryville, near Flemington. He retired 17 years ago.
Born on Nov. 2, 1886, in Little York, N.J., he was the son of the late William and Adelia Opdyke McCrea. He spent most of his life in Hunterdon County.
Surviving are his widow, the former Clara Bunn; two sons, William B. of Cherryville and John of Lincoln, Neb.; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Bennett, Tuckerton, N.J., and Mrs. Lois Horvath, Cherryville; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant, N.J., Cemetery.
