There is no official birth record with Delaware (or Maryland) for a Hattie May or Harriet/Harriett May. Her death certificate lists her birth date and location as March 25, 1886 in Laurel, Delaware - information provided by her son, Tilghman McCabe. Her father, Merrill H. Tilghman, and mother, Olivia Anna Holloway, did live in Concord for a period of time and Merrill owned a business there. Other children are listed in this bible as being born in Laurel, Delaware

Harriett (Hattie) married 2nd William Whaley McCabe in Salisbury, MD June 16, 1919. Mr. McCabe adoped both boys in 1926 whose names were then changed to Tilghman McCabe and William Holloway McCabe respectively. William W. McCabe was mayor of Ocean City, MD for several years. His son, William H. McCabe owned and operated the McCabe Apartments and Hotel at 5th Street and Boardwalk for many years and served on the Ocean City Town Council.
