GATE CITY, Va. - Wilma Naomia Monroe, 47, entered into rest Monday (Aug. 20, 2001) at her residence.
Mrs. Monroe was born September 11, 1953 in Scott County, Va., to the late Wrightly
and Margaret Peters Hammonds.
Survivors include her husband,Colen Monroe
, Gate City; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Smith and Patrick Good, Weber City, Va.; one son, Curtis Trent Smith, Weber City, Va.; five sisters, Hazel Matheson, Surgoinsville, Mamalee Hammonds, Dickersonville, Va., Louella Hammonds, Weber City, Va., Beatrice Lane, Duffield, Va., and Elizabeth Strong, Kingsport; three brothers, James Hammonds, Yuma, Va., Herbert Hammonds, Duffield, Va., and Robert Paul Hammonds, Weber City, Va.; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Danny Sykes officiating.
Music will be provided by Melody Sounds.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Haynes Family Cemetery, Yuma, Va.
The family will be receiving friends following the funeral and graveside services at the residence of Margaret and Patrick Good, Click Street, Weber City, Va.
The family will be meeting at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
