Chico Enterprise Thursday, January 13, 1944, p 4 col 1 “Services Held For Mrs. Ruley. Many friends gathered this afternoon at 2:30 in the Nugent Funeral chapel to pay their final respects to the memory of Mrs. Rosie Viola Ruley who died at her home on Davis and Virginia streets, January 8.
Mrs. Ruley, who was a native of Indiana is survived by her husband, John Ruley.
Rev. F.T. Zellmer pastor of the Free Methodist church, had charge of the final services, and Mrs. Juanita Zellmer sang the song ‘Beautiful’ and ‘The Home of the Soul’, Mrs. D.D. Irwin accompanied on the chapel organ.
Interment was made at Chico cemetery with Kenneth Palmer, Franklin Palmer, Dale Palmer, Ira Ruley, Lewellyn Howell and William Davis acting as pallbearers."
