WOODWARD, MARY CATHERINE died 11:30 o'clock on Friday night (13 Dec 1912) at her home near Ida, aged 63 years, 6 months and 28 days.

She had been in failing health for about six months from dropsy and a complication of diseases and was confined to her bed for 2 weeks before her death. Her long and harassing illness was borne with great patience and with humble submission to the divine will.

Mrs. Woodward was a Miss Comer of the county. her father Samuel Comer, deceased, having made his home near Ida.

She is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Joseph Cave and Mrs. William H. Corbin of Page county, Va., John W. Comer, Mrs. William Ilsley & Mrs. Rebecca Hite of Holt Co., MO., Joseph A. Comer of Cooper Co., MO., Mrs. Sarah Jane Scheuaman of Kansas & Miss Susan Caroline Comer of Ohio.

One member of this large family of brothers & sisters passed away before Mrs. Woodward.

About fifteen years ago a brother, Samuel Henry Comer of Holt county, MO. was accidentally killed by descending into a well filled with foul air.

By Mrs. Woodward's death the loss of a tender & devoted mother fell upon the following children: Mrs. William H. Somers, Mrs. Rupert C. Broyles, Mrs. Byrd F. Jenkins, Mrs. David Somers, Mrs. William Hoak, Miss Minnie Woodward, William H. Woodward & D. M. Woodward all of this county.

Mrs. Woodward had been a member of the Brethren church for about 35 years & was a sincere Christian greatly beloved & esteemed by all. The funeral which took place at the church on Sunday was conducted by Elder D. N. Spitler assisted by Eld. Martin Rothgeb.

Her remains were interred in the family graveyard near by. All her children & many other relatives & friends were present, on the sad occasion.
