My Dad's father. "Alvin" was his family name. Twin of Homer A. Moore. Son of Andrew Alonzo and Sarah Andromeda (Sallie) Wasson Moore. Alvin was the husband of Nancy Jane (Nannie) Forrester. Both born, reared and married in the Shady Grove Community near Ethel, Attala County, MS.

In the December, 1927 he sold his place at Shady Grove and moved to a place in the Delta approx four miles SW of Lambert in Quitman County. Some years later he sold that place and bought a farm about a mile east, closer to MS Hwy 3. There he and his wife lived the remainder of their lives.

His father, A. A. Moore b McCool, MS, 31 March 1854, d Attala County, MS, 10 Aug 1898. Married 28 Ap 1891 Sarah Amdromeda (Sallie) Wasson, b Attala County, MS, 11 No 1866 d 4 Jl 1957 Kosciusko, Attala County, MS. Alonzo and Sallie are buried in the Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, near Ethel, MS. A. A. Moore is the son of George Alonzo and Nancy Ellen Dennis. George A. Moore was b TN 5 Ja 1816, d McCool, Attala County, MS 3 Mr 1890. Nancy was b GA 25 No 1817, d McCool, Attala County, MS 18 Ja 1885. Both are buried in Stonewall Cemetery just outside of Ethel, MS. George is the fourth son of John and Rachel Mayberry Moore.

Rachel Mayberry Moore was b TN ca. 1899, d AL, ca. 1868. She was the daughter of George Mayberry, b NJ, 1760, d, Bibb County, AL 11 No 1848. George Mayberry married on 5 Ja 1782 in Botetourt County, VA, Christiana Kimberline, b ca 1761, d Perry County, AL 30 May 1838. She was the daughter of Jacob and Mary Rinehart Kimberline. George and Christiana are both buried on private property near or on the Bibb/Perry County County Line. His grave is marked by the DAR. Their two head stones are the only ones remaining. The current landowner maintains the cemetery now as did his mother and DAR friends.
