At his residence near Newmarket, Highland County, Ohio, on the 20th ult., Mr. William Vance Sr., in the 76th year of his age.
The deceased was formerly a citizen of Fayette co., Pa. His residence was about 3 miles Southwest of Uniontown. He was one among the oldest members of the Baptist church of this place, and respected by all who knew him. In the year 1837, he removed to Highland Co., Ohio, where he remained until his mortal body wearied by the years of time expired. But the weeping wife and friends that are left to mourn his departure, may rejoice that his spirit is now around the throne of Glory with the redeemed in heaven. How blest the death of the righteous, to leave this world of sorrow and mount on angels wings, and fly to the eternal mansions on high and join with the Saints and seraphs in singing the praise of God and the lamb forever

William and Rachel Vance had 2 additional children burial places unknown 1) William F Vance, born 24 Dec 1807 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He died in Highland County 13 Nov 1884. He married Jane Wynne in Fayette County abt 1829. 2) Mintun J Vance born 10 Mar 1816 in Fayette County and died after 1885 in Kansas. He married first Matilda Tener/Tenor 13 Jun 1838 in Highland County and second Mrs. Polly Tanner (nee Fortner) 25 Oct 1876 in Cherokee County, Kansas.
