Her parents were Samuel Maggard and Rebecca Robertson. In 1824, she married Jesse Adams, after only knowing him for a few days. Her brother John had married Jesse's sister Sarah in 1818, after only knowing her for a few days as well. Margaret had about 12 children with Jesse. They left Kentucky and migrated to Fort Smith, Arkansas. After a few years, they came to Taney County, Missouri. Some of Margaret's brother Rudolph's children were living there. After Margaret died, Jesse got remarried to Angeline (Medlin) Solomon.
