Mrs. Edwards

Gloucester Point - Mrs. Virginia Sterling Edwards, 76, died Sunday at her home.

A graduate of St. Vincent's Hospital School on Nursing in 1923, she was nursing supervisor at Eastern State Hospital for 16 years. She was a member of Severn Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, J. P. Edwards; four daughters, Miss Virginia A. Edwards of Athens, Ga., Mrs. H. R. Adamson of Arvada, Colo., Mrs. Leonard Riley of Gloucester Point, and Mrs. Gene Mull Jr. of Hampton; a son, Capt. Jerry Edwards, of Gloucester Point; four sisters, Mrs. Harold Gwyn of Naxera, Mrs. William Seldon of Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Rufus Hudgins of (Port) Haywood, and Mrs. Lorraine Jenkins of Bena; five brothers, Ed Sterling of Naxera, Eugene Sterling of San Diego, Calif., Charles C. Sterling, Harry B. Sterling and Herbert H. Sterling, all of Gloucester Point; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hogg Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Leonard B. Riley, pastor of Phoebus Baptist Church and the Rev. W. E. Honeycutt, pastor of Severn Presbyterian Church.

Burial will be in Rosewell Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home and requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Heart Association or Severn Presbyterian Church.
