J.M. SWEEZER STRUCK BY SANTA FE TRAIN NO. 120 AT MARCELINE, MO.

J.M. Sweezer, 63, father of A.T. Sweezer of this City was killed at Marceline shortly after 10:30 this morning when he was struck by Santa Fe train No. 120.

Mr. Sweezer, who is employed at the Santa Fe station in Marceline had been walking along the tracks east of the station and was said to have stepped into the path of the oncoming locomotive. He was said to have been a little hard of hearing and it is thought that he did not hear the train approaching from the rear.

Engineer P. Roan, this city, was at the throttle of the train which struck Sweezer. No. 120 does not arrive here until late in the afternoon and further details of the tragic accident could not be learned at the time of going to press.

A.T. Sweezer, locomotive fireman, and the accident victim's brother, Will Sweezer, a brakeman, left on Santa Fe train No. 9 for Marceline today.

Mr. Sweezer leaves five children, A.T., this city,
Mrs. Kee, Marceline, and Homer, Estelle, and Irene, all at home. He is survived by another brother, Robert at Centralia, Mo.
