Born on April 21, 1894 in Boone County Missouri, Uncle Bill was a retired Santa Fe Railroad Conductor and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and the Fort Madison Senior Citizens. He had lived in Ft. Madison, Iowa since August 1930.
He married Christina Abbigail Boyd on Jan. 27, 1926 at Marceline, Mo. They had three daughters and a son. Bill was one of nine children (seven sons and two daughters) born to James Marion Sweezer and Mary Ellen Brooks Sweezer who lived in Marceline and Bucklin, Mo.
