Pearl Gale Ash
Pearl Gale Ash, 84, Village Green Apartments, died early Monday morning in a pond near his residence.
It is believed that Ash rose early for a walk and became confused in the darkness walking into the pond.
Mr. Ash was born in Tyler County, W.Va., a son of the late George and Eva Stewart Ash.
He was a retired salesman for the Blaettnar Auto Co., Rawlings Dodge and Kingsbury Homes.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Graves Ash; a son, Harold Ash; a daughter, Glenna Sue Ash; five brothers and four sisters.
He was a member of the Pomeroy Church of Christ.
Surviving are the following children: Jeanette Russell, Waldo; Richard Ash, Syracuse; Edwin Ash, Minersville; Esther Smith, Syracuse; Charles Hanning, Columbus; Shirley Ash, Albany; Nancy Reed, Pomeroy; Linda Baker, Middleport; Patsy Warner, Syracuse; Mary Lou Waggoner, Gallipolis; John Ash, Pomeroy; Jeanne Waggoner, Mason; two sisters, Lana Gibson, and Alpha Douglas, Harrisonville; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ewing Funeral Home with Mr. Neal Proudfoot officiating. Burial will be in the Wells Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 this evening.
