Younger son of Sir Thomas Grey and Lady Alice Neville. Grandson of Sir Thomas Gray and Joan Mowbray, direct descendant of Magna Carta Baron William de Mowbray.
Husband of Elizabeth FitzHugh, daughter of Sir Henry FitzHugh and Elizabeth de Grey, heiress to Sir Robert de Grey, descendant of King John. They were married 01 July 1435 at Ravensworth, Yorkshire and had four sons:
* Sir Thomas born 1429
* Henry born 1431
* Sir Ralph Grey born 1432, died 15 Jul 1464
* Robert Gray
Sir Ralph died in France and was buried at Chillingham. His father, who participated in the Southampton plot to assassinate England's King Henry V, was executed at the North Gate of Southampton 02 August 1415, along with the other conspirators including Henry Scope, Baron of Masham, and Richard of Conisburg, Earl of Cambridge. His burial, and that of his wife, Alice, remain unknown.
Both his parents have been entered into Findagrave, but I will not link to them. Burial unknown, disguised as non-cemetery burials which applies more for historical deaths on a battlefield and such. Burial Unknowns are by Findagrave rules and regulations are to be used "Location of body unknown is used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition must be determined and updated within 30 days," and not to be used for historical people who died hundreds of years ago.
