Services for D.J. Cooper, 56 longtime resident of Olney, who died at his home Saturday night, were held at 3 P.M. Monday in the First United Methodist Church, Rev. Jay Beavers, pastor officiated.
Born October 14, 1921 in Park Spring, Tex., he was married in 1946 in Graham to Blanch Hennig. He had lived in Olney about 54 years, and was a carpenter. He served in the Army in World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter Dedie Cooper of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Lindley of Fort Worth, Mrs. Hazel Bearden of Eunice, N.Mex., and Mrs. Dale Scoggins of Odessa; three brothers, Chester Cooper and Lester Cooper both of Olney, and Bill Cooper of Fort Worth.
Burial was in Restland Cemetery under direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
