Mrs. Mary Greenfield of Grant, Iowa, died at the State Hospital in Clarinda, at half past seven o’clock Tuesday, June 10, 1913, of Bright’s Disease.
She was born in Highland County, Ohio, May 14, 1835, and was therefore seventy-eight years and twenty-six days old at the time of her death. She was united in marriage to James Greenfield and they came to Iowa in 1865 and settled in Villisca and had lived in this vicinity ever since. Deceased is remembered here by all the early settlers and her death will be sincerely mourned by a great many Villisca people.
Mrs. Greenfield is survived by six children, her husband preceding her to the grave some time ago. The children are: Mrs. W. J. Darnold, Villisca: Mrs. James Bridwell, Grant; Mrs. Charles Thomas, Clarinda; and Charles Greenfield of Hepburn. Also an unmarried son and daughter, Jas and Cora who live on the home farm southwest of Grant. Besides her children, she is survived by twenty-one grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held today at ten o’clock at the M. E. Church at Grant and interment will be in the Grant Cemetery.
