MRS. TUCKER DIES AT HOME HERE MONDAY

Mrs. Frances E. Tucker, Mother of W. C. Tucker, Passes

Mrs. Frances Embry Tucker, widow of William H. Tucker and mother of W. C. Tucker, managing editor of the Columbus Enquirer, died at her residence, 1114 Third avenue, Monday morning at 4:20 o'clock. Mrs. Tucker had been seriously ill for about two months.

She was well known in Columbus and vicinity and had many friends who regret her death. The late William H. Tucker was connected to the editorial department of the Enquirer-Sun for twenty-five years, and for several years was editor of the paper. He was also engaged in editorial work on The Ledger for a time.

Mrs. Tucker was born in Hawkinsville, Barbour County, Ala., March 2 [sic], 1872. She was the daughter of J. W. and Athalia Antoinette Boykin. She married Mr. Tucker on March 25, 1897, and a few years later they came to Columbus, where Mr. Tucker became associated with the newspaper.

Three patriotic societies were organizations to which Mrs. Tucker contributed much time. She was a member of the Oglethorpe chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Lizzie Rutherford chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Ladies' Memorial association. She was a member of the First Baptist church.

Her son and a brother, Samuel R. Boykin, of Seale, are the immediate survivors.

The funeral services will be held at the Baptist church at Seale at 11:15 o'clock Tuesday morning, Rev. J. E. Herring, pastor of the church, officiating. The interment will be in the Seale cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Arch Ferrell, B. deG. Waddell, Edward Kelly, W. C. Woodall, R. M. Page, and W. E. Page.
