Rites Held for Dorothy Huseby, 71

Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran church, New Richland, Tuesday afternoon for Dorothy Huseby, 71, who died Saturday afternoon at her home at New Richland. She had been ill only three weeks.

The Rev. Lowell Smestad conducted the services and burial was in St. Olaf cemetery east of New Richland. Pall bearers were Edward Bruzek, Lawrence Bruzek, O. B. Anderson, Lloyd Martinson, Oscar Martinson and George Hovig.

Miss Huseby had been employed only recently as a census enumerator in the New Richland area and had previously worked on the farm census. A native of New Richland, she was born April 23, 1889 and was 71 years of age. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Gudmond and Marica Huseby. She was employed as bookkeeper and saleslady at Tyrholm’s Furniture store in New Richland since 1910. When the store was sold to Friedrich in 1956 she continued in the same capacity for a couple of years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, belonged to the Ladies Aid Society and served as church secretary for many years. She has taken an active part in Red Cross work over the years and was affiliated with the Republican party, serving for many years on the county committee. Miss Huseby has shared a home with Mrs. Clara Fiering for a number of years.

Her immediate survivors are a sister, Mrs. Ella Hoigaard, Glendale, Calif.; a brother Nels Huseby, Minneapolis. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
