JASPER PATRICK
---A pioneer of Macon County, a public spirited citizen, a veteran of the Civil War, helpful neighbor, successful farmer and stockman, devoted husband and father, a man of fraternal spirit and unusual intellectual power died from his home in Elmer June 25, in the seventy-ninth year of his life.
---In religion he was broad and sane, accepting Jesus' vision of the Kingdom of God. He was a member and supporter of the Universalist Church.
---When very young he enlisted in the Federal Army from his native state and served until the end of the war. He met his obligations of life honorably and breathed the spirit of a true brother of his race.
---Brief and simple services were conducted at the home January 28 by his intimate and personal friend, Rev. James Houghton.
---Jasper N. Patrick was born in Fayette County, Ohio, July 30, 1845, came with his parents to Missouri when a young man in 1866.
---He was married to Mary J. McDavitt and to them were born seven children, four of whom died in infancy and early childhood.
---He is survived by one son, Frank N. Patrick and two daughters, Mrs. Cora E. Atteberry and Mrs. Sarah Florence Magers, all of Elmer, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Murry of Witchita Falls, Texas.
