Allene Batchelor, 99, formerly of Bluffton, Ga. died Monday, November 8, 2010 at her home in Madison, Ga. Allene was born July 25, 1911, in Clay County, Ga. to the late Vergil and Bama Redding. She lived in Bluffton, Ga., Tallahassee, Fl., Iron City, Ga., Zephyrhills, FL. and recently Madison, Ga. She made many friends during her lifetime.
Allene was preceded in death by her husband, Seale Martin Maddox, and her husband Collie Batchelor, her parents, her brothers and sister (Buster, Wayne, Grover, Jim, Robert, Russell and Chester Redding, Mattie Loyless.
Allene is survived by her daughter, Patricia M. Lewis and loving son-in-law, Fred Lewis of Madison, Ga., her sister, Eloise Harris of Bluffton, Ga. three grandsons Steve Henson (Traci) of Madison, Ga., Scott Henson (Becky) of Destin, Fl., Stacey Lewis (Jennifer) of Asheville, N. C., two great-granddaughters, Leslie and Lindsay Henson of Madison, Ga. and two great-grandsons, Gage and Jack Henson of Destin, Fl. and by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, 21802 Lucille Rd., Blakely, Ga. 39823
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 11, 2010 at he funeral home. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Cotton Hill, Ga. (Clay Co.)
Serving as pallbearers will be; Will Harris, Phil Redding, John Redding, Kenny Redding, Timmy Redding, Tommy Redding, Bob Redding and Roger Holliday
