Her obituary from the Fairland News Herald, dated November 26, 1915 of which I transcribed from microfilm in Miami, Oklahoma reads:
Mrs. Ada Hukill wife of J.T. Hukill a pioneer citizen of Afton and wife of ex-sheriff of Ottowa County died last night after months of suffering from Brights Disease. (kidney disease) Mrs. Hukill was a prominent church and lodge woman & was installed in the Rebekah Lodge at this place several years ago. Her funeral will be held this P.M. and a number of Rebekahs from this place have planned to attend. She leaves besides her husband, one child Rexley, 15 yrs old.
