Henry August Saeger was born 10 August 1852 in St. Louis, MO. He was the eldest of 7 children born to William August "Henry" Saeger & Carolina Wilhelmine Berghorn. His siblings were Caroline Bertha, Louis C., Frank S., Anna Emilie, a child with the first initial "C", who died at age 2 in 1872 & a child who died at age 0, some time after 1872.

In 1879, Henry married Lydia Rose Koenigkramer in St. Louis, MO. In 1880, Henry & Lydia were living in Russell Township, Russell County, Kansas. Henry was a saddler & Lydia kept house. By 1910, they are living in Carrollton, Carroll County, MO, where they lived until they passed away. Census records for 1910 & 1920 indicate Henry was a salesman.

Henry died 26 February 1930 in Carrollton, Carroll County, MO.

HENRY A. SAEGER
born in 1852 in Missouri. Son of Henry & Caroline Saeger, natives of Hanover, Germany. His father has been a teacher in St. Louis for about 55 years. Henry was raised & educated in St. Louis. In 1867, he engaged with a wholesale harness house in St. Louis & remained with it until 1879, when he removed to Carrollton, Missouri & opened the shop which he owns now. He carries a large stock of harness & saddlery & has four men constantly employed in his shop. Mr. Saeger was married in 1879 to Miss Lidia Cramer, daughter of William Cramer of St. Louis.
