Caroline Bertha Saeger was born 21 February 1857 in St. Louis, MO. She was the 2nd of 7 children born to William August "Henry" Saeger & Carolina Wilhelmine Berghorn. Her siblings were Henry August, Louis C., Frank S., Anna Emilie, a child with the first initial "C", who died at age 2 in 1872 & a child who died at age 0 some time after 1872.

As stated in her Last Will & Testament, Caroline's mother left "all the real estate and personal property, and all the household furniture, clothes and bedding" to Caroline, provided that "she do not marry" & with the stipulation that she pay $200 to her sister & $100 to each of her brothers within 30 days of taking possession of the property. It was further stated that should Caroline "be married before my death or after my death: then the whole property shall be sold" & from the net of such sale, Caroline would first receive $500 & the balance would be divided equally among all the children.

Caroline never married & lived almost her whole life in her parent's home. She died on her 75th birthday, 21 February 1932, at an Emmaus Home in St. Charles, MO, where she had resided for about 5 months. Her brother, Louis C. Saeger, of St. Charles, MO was listed as the informant on her death certificate.
