A native of Price Hill, W. Va., he was a son of Mrs. Ada Trainer Langley and the late John Trainer. He had lived in Norfolk 43 years.
He was a member of Fairmount Park Methodist Church; Atlantic Lodge 2, AF&AM; Norfolk Consistory; Scottish Rite and Khedive Temple of the Shrine and its chapters.
Besides his mother, surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Cartwright Trainer; his stepfather, Thomas E. Langley, and two sons, William Lee Trainer and Alfred Errol Trainer, all of Norfolk; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Frances Griffin of Fentress; a sister, Mrs. Helen T. Jarvis, and two nieces, Misses Renie D. Jarvis and Debra L. Jarvis, all of Newport News.
A funeral service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Thursday at 1 p.m. with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
