"Booneville, Mississippi, Feby. 16, 1915
Owing to the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death and being of sound and disposing mind, I Romulus D. Sargent do make and publish this my last will, hereby revoking all prior wills.
First, I desire that all my just debts be paid and that my body be decently buried. That a tombstone to cost not more than one hundred dollars be placed at my last resting place.
Second, what ever there remains of my estate be equally
divided between the heirs of my deceased brothers, James L. Sargent, Temple C. Sargent and my deceased sisters, Dolly Ann Sargent, Elizabeth Mayfield.
Third, I here by appoint my friend, John B. Sanders, Booneville, Miss. Sole Executor of this my will and he is to be exempt from making bond or reporting to any Court, and is to have no compensation for distributing my property.
Should I die in Texas or Oklahoma, I desire to be buried at Weimar, Texas by the side of my beloved wife. Should I die in Mississippi, I desire to be buried at New Chapel in Itawamba County, by the side of my beloved mother.
In witness where of, I here to affix my signature in the presence of the subscribing witnesses: R.L. Bolton and S,V, Crow, who sign as witness in my
presence and in the presence of each other.

Note: Romulus D. Sargent died March 14, 1919 and is buried at New Chapel, Itawamba Co, MS, by the side of his mother, Louisa Winbush Lester Gannaway Sargent, although she has no marker. His father was Temple Sargent, who died Aug. 18, 1850 in Franklin Co, AL and is buried in the Sargent Cemetery, a private cemetery 4 miles east of Russelville, AL.
