Victor "Jack" Von Ruden, 101, Mayville, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1993 in Luther Memorial Home, Mayville.
Victor Von Ruden was born Sept. 15, 1892, the son of John and Margaret Von Ruden , near Reynolds N.D., where he attended Morgan No. 1, rural school. He served in the U.S. Army during Word War I. He worked as a bricklayer's assistant for two years after the war until returning to Mayville, where he
farmed until 1950. He married Othilia Ethan Nov. 17, 1927 in Reynolds. They moved to Mayville in 1950, and he worked as a self-employed carpenter until his retirement in 1968. Othilia died Dec. 7, 1976. He became a resident of Luther Memorial Home April 29, 1987.
He is survived by sons, ..., both of Mayville, and ..., Waukee, Iowa; a daughter, ..., Great Falls, Mont.; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Nick, Grand Forks. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sister. Burial: Mayville Cemetery
