Charles Nick Chittum died Tuesday morning at his home near Fairfield. He was born in Fairfield August 19th, 1871, the son of the late John Jackson Chittum and Mary Elizabeth Painter Chittum, both of Amherst. Mr. Chittum is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertie Hunt Chittum of Fairfield and one son, W. Clinton Chittum, also of Fairfield.
He was a farmer and a member of the Fairfield Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted from the grave in the Fairfield Cemetery, VA, Thursday at 4 o'clock by the Rev. G. G. Smith.
