WIFE OF EDWARD R BRICKETT
OAKLAND -- Amy L. Brickett 75, this loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, foster mother, sister, aunt, loving wife and devoted friend to many went home to be with the Lord on Friday July 6, 2007. She was surrounded by her family at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

She was born in Albion on April 7, 1932, to Melbourne and Nina (Barkhouse) Bezanson. She started her education in a one-room schoolhouse, then the Village School in Albion. She attended Bessie High School and graduated from Lexington Christian School.

Growing up she enjoyed basketball, ice skating and skiing. Amy was remembered as a hard-working woman who spent nearly two decades employed by John Ernst chicken farm in Sidney to support her family. She babysat for several local families. Being a foster parent to many, including Benji, Larry, Charity and Jamie. Taking care of family was a special part of her life.

Amy was an active member of the Oakland Church of the Nazarene. She helped in caring for children in the nursery. She enjoyed attending church functions and volunteered to visit the elderly. She assisted with rides to any activities people needed.

She loved putting together puzzles, playing checkers and Uno, taking photos, spending summers with family at her camp on McGrath Pond, spending Sundays going to church and time with family, crocheting, going snowmobiling, going for rides up north or just about anywhere with family, and traveling to Nova Scotia.

Every year she attended her class reunions for Bessie High School.

Above all was her love for God and her family, and all who knew her knew these were her highest priorities of her life. She was an amazing mother who took an active roll in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving impacts that will stand the test of time.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward R. Brickett, brothers George and Robert Bezanson, sisters Bernice Baglio and infant Pearl Bezanson, and a grandson Peter Brickett.
