Eleanora Leas was the daughter of Leonard Leist (buried Markey) and Salome (last name unknown). She married Dr. Daniel Fahnestock on December 18, 1764; he was the son of Johann Dietrich Fahnestock and wife Margaret Wertz who lived and died at Ephrata on thier own farm. They are buried at the Ephrata Cemetery.

Eleanora and Daniel had children: William, Daniel, Mary, Salome and Esther. After the death of his wife, Dr. Daniel moved farther west in Pennsylvania.
