W. O. Mcleroy
W. O. McLeroy,64, of 225 Cater, a member of the Nueces County Sheriff's Department for more than 15 years, died at 8:30 pm yesterday in his home.
McLeroy had served as a deputy under the last three sheriffs elected in Nueces County. He retired from his post only recently because of ill health
First aid given by police and fire department squads was of no use. From all appearances the veteran law enforcement officer died of a heart attack.
Survivors include a wife, Trena; three sons, W. Buford, Alton K, and Morris McLeroy, and one daughter, Mrs. Guy Irwin. The addresses of the children, all of whom live out of town, were not available last night
Clifford Jackson Funeral Home will announce the funeral arrangements as soon as plans are completed
(Treena and Walter had a baby daughter Jan 23, 1953, born 6 months after her fathers death)
